Fiora is the youngest daughter of the noble Laurent family in Demacia. She seemed destined to be married off in order to form an alliance, but Fiora did not want this. She took up her eldest brother’s rapier and forced him to give her lessons in secret, against the wishes of her parents.
Despite all she did to dodge this arranged marriage, it was eventually arranged. Fiora was to marry a member of the Crownguard family when she turns 18. Even King Jarvan III was set to attend.
As the guests began to arrive, Fiora declared that she would rather die than marry someone chose for her. Her betrothed was publicly shamed by this declaration and the Crownguard family demanded a duel to the death to rectify the problem.
Fiora quickly agreed to this duel, but her father Sebastien begged for King Jarvan III to intervene. King Jarvan had done much to end these feuds between the noble houses, but in this case there was nothing he could do, Fiora had already accepted.
To protect his daughter, Sebastien invoked his right to take Fiora’s place in the duel.
The Crownguard family also named a champion to take their son’s place in the duel, a much more formidable foe. Sebastien had barely a chance of winning. So he made a desperate plan to drug the Crownguard’s choice.
Unfortunately Sebastien was caught in the act and sentenced to death. On the eve of his execution, Fiora visited him in his cell. Not wanting to be publicly shamed in this way, the two made a plan.
On the day of his execution, King Jarvan III ruled that Fiora would take Sebastien’s place as head of the Laurent family after he was hanged.
Fiora offered up her blade to her father, offering to duel for the position instead of Sebastien being hanged. King Jarvan accepted the terms, and the duel began.
Father and daughter fought in an awesome display of sword clashing, but Fiora eventually got the upper hand. She tearfully ended his life, plunging her sword into his chest.
The death of Sebastien had settled the quarrel between the two families and Fiora took her father’s place.
But some scandals are not easy to forget. Fiora settled into this new position but rumors and gossip followed her at every turn. She had bypassed her elder brother’s claim on the family throne.
She sought to quiet these whisperings by making everyone in her house noble, even bringing back the art of dueling, but not to the death.
To anyone who questions Fiora’s motives, she is more than happy to duel with them.
Fiora is a champion that is best played in the Top Lane. This champion is hard to master and requires practice in order to get good with her.
Every champion in League of Legends has a passive and 4 abilities which are used by pressing “Q”, “W”, “E”, and “R” on a keyboard during game play. “R” is considered an ultimate ability and is usually the most powerful ability. Each ability has a cool down, which means you have to wait some time before you can cast it again.
Fiora’s abilities use mana. So you will have to watch your mana bar during the game. If your mana runs out, you will not be able to cast spells until it fills up.
Passive – Duelist’s Dance. Fiora’s passive puts a mark, or Vital, around an enemy champion. If she hits the mark, she will gain health and movement speed and a new mark will appear in a different location.
Q – Lunge. This ability allows Fiora to lunge in a direction and stab a nearby enemy. This deals physical damage and applies on-hit effects.
W – Riposte. Fiora parries all incoming damage and abilities for a short time and then stabs in a direction. The stab will slow the first enemy hit, or will stun the enemy if they are trying to immobilize Fiora with an ability.
E – Bladework. This gives Fiora increased attack speed for the next two attacks. The first attack will slow the target and the second attack will critically strike.
R – Grand Challenge. This is Fiora’s ultimate and will reveal four Vital spots on an enemy champion. She gains movement speed while near them. If Fiora hits all 4 of the spots or if the enemy dies after she has hit at least one, she and all of her allies in the area will heal for a couple seconds.
How To Play Fiora
Fiora is one of the best duelist champions in the game. She has great mobility and damage, making her a great champion to 1 v 1 any champion in the game.
In lane start with Q and look to use it to hit your opponent’s Vitals. If the Vital is hard to get to, move away from the enemy and it will reset to a new location on the enemy.
Get your W next and use it to start blocking your opponent’s spells and damage. Try to gauge when they will use an ability to damage you with and use W to block it.
Take your E at level 3 and use it when you can to get two quick auto attacks. At level 3 Fiora gets a power spike. Look to Q onto a Vital, hit E to double attack quickly and then W to counter your opponent’s attack.
Hitting a vital will give you movement speed. Use the bonus speed to keep attacking or run away as needed.
When you have your R, use it on a target, attack all the Vitals in order to get a lot of healing back. If you get ganked, R on the lowest enemy and take them down. Then turn to the other enemy and take them down too.
During the mid game, look to push down turrets in the Top Lane and the Bot Lane. This is called split pushing. Take teleport so you can enter a team fight if needed.
Come late game, you will want to stay with your team and help end the game.
Tips And Tricks
Fiora is a champion that is best suited for fighting 1 v 1 or even 2 v 1. After level 6, you can take down two enemies by yourself if played correctly.
Use your R on an enemy you can easily take down, hit all 4 Vital spots to get a lot of healing. Then turn your attention to another target. You will usually win fights this way.
Learn to use your W to parry oncoming attacks. You can be quite difficult to deal with if you master this ability.
You can use your Q over walls, so use it if you need to escape.
Make sure you take advantage of bonus movement speed when you get it. You can get this bonus by attacking Vitals from your passive and when you ult an enemy champion. Use the speed to keep being aggressive or to escape.
When in lane, make sure you ward deep in the river. This will give you plenty of time to react to a gank.
Split Pushing As Fiora
Fiora is actually not the best champion to team fight with. She is better suited for dueling with one or two opponents. Look to stay in the Top Lane until you take two towers.
Then look to push in the Bot Lane to take two more towers.
When the enemy comes, either stand and fight if you can beat them, or look to escape.
Unless the whole enemy team comes after you, you should be able to win the fight.
Good Luck and Have Fun!
