Karma is actually an ancient Ionian soul that has been reincarnated for centuries. Each reincarnation is filled with memories of past versions of Karma.
Recently Karma has taken the form of a 12-year old girl named Darha in the highlands of Shon-Xan. As a headstrong and independent person, Darha has always dreamed of a life beyond her village.
Suddenly she began to suffer from strange visions. The images felt like memories, but Darha knew they had not happened to her. At first, they were easy to dismiss, but soon grew into such intensity that Darha started to go mad.
Being confined to the healing huts, a group of monks visited her village. These monks had come from the place where the divine leader Karma had passed away a few months ago. This place is called the Lasting Altar.
They were searching for Karma’s next incarnation and believed that she was in Shon-Xan. After applying a series of tests to everyone they met and coming up empty-handed, they prepared to leave.
Upon passing the healing huts where Darha was, she ran out to tell the monks of her visions, recognizing their voices from the visions.
The monks knew this girl was Karma and took her to the Lasting Altar in order to teach her how to connect with her ancient soul. Karma had always advocated peace and harmony.
However, Darha questioned these principles, confusing her followers. How could this Karma disagree with the teachings of all the past Karmas?
When Noxus invaded Ionia these beliefs were tested. As many Ionians were killed, Karma was forced to face the realities of war. Karma felt a power within her, and a hard time not using it.
Voices within Karma told her to allow this conflict to pass, but she could not fight these urges to act. Finally, she confronted a Noxian commander and unleashed her divine fury, easily destroying the entire squadron.
Even though many Ionians rejoiced at the victory, the monks believed she had made a mistake. Karma had upset the spiritual harmony of Ionia, and they begged her to not act again.
Karma silenced the monks and told them she was being guided by the Spirit of Ionia. They needed to accept the changing world and defend their lands.
Now that the war is long over, many people in Ionia still tend to meet violence with violence. Having pledged to guide as many as possible to the enlightened path, Karma teaches these people to act when necessary and to have peace when possible.
This champion is best played in the Bot Lane as Support. Karma is not difficult to play at first and is a good champion to start playing with.
Every champion in League of Legends has a passive and 4 abilities which are used by pressing “Q”, “W”, “E”, and “R” on a keyboard during game play. “R” is considered an ultimate ability and is usually the most powerful ability. Each ability has a cool down, which means you have to wait some time before you can cast it again.
Karma’s “R” ability adds bonus properties to her basic abilities. Karma’s abilities use mana. So you will have to watch your mana bar during the game. If your mana runs out, you will not be able to cast spells until it fills up.
Passive – Gathering Fire. Mantra’s cool down is reduced each time Karma damages an enemy champion with one of her abilities or basic attacks.
Q – Inner Flame. This ability is a skill shot. Karma will send a ball of spirit energy at an area that will explode and deal damage when it hits an enemy.
- Mantra Bonus – In addition to the explosion, a second explosion will deal more damage after a short delay.
W – Focused Resolve. Karma will create a tether between herself and an enemy which will deal damage and reveal the enemy. At the end of the duration and if the tether is not broken, the enemy will be rooted and take more damage.
- Mantra Bonus – The tether is strengthened and Karma heals herself for the duration and the root at the enemy will be rooted for longer.
E – Inspire. Karma can place a shield on herself or on an ally, increasing Movement Speed.
- Mantra Bonus – The shield will extend to nearby allied champions.
R – Mantra. This ability is available at level 1. Use it to empower Karma’s basic abilities to perform additional effects.
How To Play Karma
Karma can be a strong Support. She has the ability to deal damage and crowd control to the enemy.
Take your Q first and use it with your R to poke your opponent down. The extra explosion on your R does a lot of damage if you can land both explosions.
Get your E next and use it to keep you and your ally safe during fights. Using it with your R will allow you to shield your ally and yourself as well as giving you both a movement speed boost.
At level 3 take your W. This is a great ability to use in order to lock the enemy down. Use it with your E to keep the tether locked on they enemy and land the stun.
When you are level 3 you have access to all of your abilities. Take note that your R takes more mana to use, so only use when you need to.
Tips And Tricks
During team fights use your R with your E. It will give your whole team a movement speed boost. This is a great way to run the enemy down and pick off slower targets.
Remember, Karma’s passive reduces the cool down of your R when you attack the enemy. Constantly be on the attack to be able to use your R more.
Your Q with R is a great way to clear minions quickly.
If you are low and need health, use your R with W to get healing back and land a stun. An enemy trying to take you down may not account for the healing you will receive with this ability.
When trying to land a stun, use your W to lock on a target and then use your E to speed yourself up keeping you in range to land the stun.
Karma In The Top Lane
Karma can also be a good pick in the Top Lane against champions like Tahm Kench and Senna.
Take your Q first and then get your W. Your W will help you lock the enemy down when your Jungler comes for a gank. Then take your E at level three.
Look to land your R with Q to damage the enemy. Use your E on your opponent to heal up when you get low and keep yourself safe with W.
